Off Center Clay - Pottery by Jim Sandefur
Sake For Four
Porcelain and Lizella Red
The decanter and cups are made from a high-fire porcelain made from the purest kaolin in the world -- from a mine in New Zealand. It is a durable and extremely translucent porcelain. The tray is made from a mid-fire red stoneware mined a few miles from my studio -- Lizella Red. It is the same clay that was used for over a century to make flower pots that were shipped all over the country, except that I fire it much higher for strength and durability.
